About This Course

Throughout a client’s lifetime, they will experience several major financial milestones— education, marriage, home ownership, raising children, career transitions, and business ventures. While each of these events carries financial significance, the largest and most enduring financial obligation most Canadians will face is funding their retirement.

This course equips financial advisors with a comprehensive understanding of the retirement income options available to their clients and prospects. Advisors will explore the realities of retirement planning, the evolving needs of Baby Boomers and future generations, and the tools required to help clients enjoy financially secure and fulfilling retirement years. The course integrates government programs, registered plans, corporate structures, insurance-based strategies, investment vehicles, and tax considerations into a cohesive retirement planning framework.

The purpose of this course is to enhance the advisor’s ability to design, evaluate, and implement effective retirement income strategies tailored to individual client circumstances. By completing this course, advisors will gain the knowledge required to:
• Understand the full landscape of retirement income sources in Canada
• Assess client needs at different life stages
• Apply tax-efficient planning techniques
• Compare and evaluate various retirement vehicles
• Provide informed, compliant, and client-centric retirement recommendations
